An EC2 instance's performance is directly usually related to the provisioned CPU and RAM on the instance type. If you are experiencing high latency in your day-to-day operations, we would recommend reviewing metrics in CloudWatch and understanding what the bottleneck for your EC2 instance is. Usually it is either CPU or memory, but there are times when networking, volume IOPS, etc. could also be a factor.
